Mission: Our mission is to improve the outcomes of the youth involved with our program by creating a hybrid competitive softball system of scholarships and paid fees. To expose our players to the highest levels of competition while empowering them with positive reinforcement and the very best coaching has to offer in an effort to level the playing field and remove social economic status factors and base the competition purely on talent and drive.

Purpose: Colorado Ascent Softball Organization has been established as an alternative to the competitive fastpitch softball world, as it exists today. Today's highest-competition softball teams have large fees and extensive travel needs. This system tends to alienate players who possess great talent and physical capability from participating. Athletes who may have fewer economic resources, and or family support structures, are virtually excluded from participating at a competitive level. This results in less exposure, if any at all, to the collegiate scouting and recruiting structures. Colorado Ascent Softball Organization seeks to change this inaccessibility for young, talented women whose lives have presented them with obstacles and accessibility to the competitive softball world. 

Coaching Ideology: I have been involved in the softball scene for many years and have had the opportunity to watch various coaching styles. My coaching style was built on the lessons I've learned from Coach Mike Candrea. We have seen other coaches who use gaslighting, shame, and other nonproductive methods to create the illusion of a competitive environment. Our ideology is built on the principle that human capability goes far beyond the confines of economic or social status. Our ideology is built on strengthening the belief in oneself and helping build the foundation of knowing that if you work hard, and apply yourself, you will reap rewards and further success. 

Hearts and Minds: We have seen teams with less field talent, who play unitedly, beat teams with more talent that are compartmentalized and fractured. A monolithic team whose hearts and minds are united on and off the field has a far better chance of winning. This is because of the unity of their drive to play and win with respect, empathy, love, and care for their fellow team members and competitors. 

A Chance: Most of the girls we had, (on a team of 11 players) only 2, had parents who were still married. Most I’ve coached over the years come from single-parent families, and have past traumas and or difficulties with finances, which create challenges for them. Our goal is to create a softball organization that looks for talent and drives within the player despite any personal circumstances. We want to create an organization that helps circumnavigate the economic or familial challenges they may face when trying to play at the competitive level. As the competitive softball world exists today, this level of playing is practically unattainable for players who don’t have a high level of familial and economic support. The sole purpose of this organization is to change this unfair dynamic, and level the playing field. We seek to bridge the gaps and will help connect their softball talent with academia and get them playing on the level that the college scouts look for. We wish to not only create a team of players, but incorporate the families of these players, and coaching staff, to create an organizational support system. 

Academia: There are many studies showing that education suffers in lower economic areas, many times this is due to the challenges a student faces outside of the school. Food security can be an issue, and financial stability (ability to pay basic bills), and problems in the home due to unstable cohabitants, can all play into why a student's grades can suffer. We have also dedicated ourselves to off-of-the-field success through additional coaching and tutoring. When applicable our organization will use funds to pay for tutoring to help a student see that they can succeed and are capable to understand and have passing grades.
